The Family Care Network, Inc. (FCNI) was established as a California nonprofit, public benefit corporation in August, 1987 by current Executive Director, Jim Roberts, and a group of leaders from the Christian community in San Luis Obispo County. The primary motive behind this effort was to create a family-centered treatment program as an alternative to group home or institutional care.

Since inception, FCNI has reached out and served San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Kern counties through 17 programs in five service divisions including: specialized therapeutic foster care services, family support services, transitional housing services, school-based mental health & delinquency prevention services and community-linked services.

Our services are designed to strengthen and preserve families and individuals. They are delivered in partnership with public and private agencies and the community. Currently, the Family Care Network serves over 2,000 foster and high-needs children, youth and families annually on the Central Coast.
